JURGENS AUTOVILLA IMPROVED
Jurgens Caravans, of Kempton Park, has announced its new Autovilla motor-home - a luxury, four-berth motorised caravan, which it claims is the most advanced unit of its kind to come off the company's assembly line. It has modernised and improved styling, and the highest level of interior trim and equipment yet seen in this series.
Built on the extra-wide Volkswagen Type 2 chassis, with 2-litre engine, the Autovilla is claimed to come 'complete with every home comfort', and is intended for off-the-beaten-track country tours for the family.
The Autovilla has a spacious modern kitchen area complete with gas stove, oven, refrigerator and sink unit with running water. Also featured is a private washroom and plenty of storage space for all requirements. There is a dining area to seat six people and four-berth sleeping capacity.
Equipment includes a rally canopy to shade an outside picnic or provide an extra cover for the main tent.
Three organised tours in Autovillas were exploring the North-Eastern Transvaal, Kruger Park and Swaziland in May and June. The cost, inclusive of rental, caravan site fees, equipment and the initial food and refreshment supply, worked out at about R16 per traveller per day.
Retail price of the new Autovilla is R17 630.
