This 1962 Series III Lancia Appia is understood to have been owned by the chairman of the Lancia Club of South Africa. It has been lovingly cared for by my father since we acquired it in 2015 and we have meticulous records of all work done since then as well as the previous owner’s detailed records and costs from 2010. She is in excellent condition and has been regularly driven whilst in our care.
The Appia is an engineering masterpiece and is a delight to drive and brings thumbs up and smiles from many motorists and pedestrians. This vehicle is right-hand drive with 4-speed manual transmission via the column-mounted shifter. Interior is in excellent condition and original. The vehicle is believed to have been resprayed prior to us acquiring her and there is no evidence of any rust. Tyres are in good condition.
Mechanically the vehicle is excellent having had a full engine and gearbox overhaul whilst in our ownership. Replaced parts have been kept eg. original fuel pumps, light covers etc. We also have available fabricated custom tools for the shock and brake services. The only noteworthy issue is a whine in first gear. We had the first gear locally fabricated and believe it was not machined 100%.
