The George Old Car Show’s silver jubilee will go ahead on 12 and 13 February 2022 at Eden Technical High School. The first show took place way back in 1996 so next year’s event, which could not take place this year due to Covid restrictions, will the 25th iteration.
As one of the most popular events on the George calendar, it attracts locals and visitors from all over South Africa. Alewijn Dippenaar, chairperson of the George Old Car Show, said the theme for next year’s show will be ‘The Southern Cape Old Car Club’.
With the uncertainty created by the pandemic, organisers have made backup plans. If the Old Car Show cannot be held in February, it will be moved to April. If it’s not possible to have spectators or visitors, a private party will be held for owners of veteran vehicles.
