In 1978, Porsche introduced the new version of the 911, called the '911SC'. Porsche reintroduced the SC which designation for the first time since the 356SC (as distinguished from the race engined 356 Carrera). It featured a 3.0-litre aluminium engine with Bosch K-Jetronic fuel injection and a 5-speed 915 transmission. Originally power output was 180hp, later 188hp and then in 1981 it was increased to 201hp. The move to an aluminium engine was to regain case reliability, something missing for many years with magnesium.

Right-hand drive model. Good, straight body but has the odd chip and scratch as detailed below. Service history with independent Porsche specialist. Drives well but could do with some minor TLC.

The underside of the car is good and the body is straight but there are some paint chips and damage on lower valence, bonnet and both doors, as well as scratches on both rear wheel arches and front left arch. There is a dent on the bottom left of the engine lid and paint is flaking under the back windscreen. The black trim on the gutters has chips missing and the targa hoop is faded and polished through to the metal in places.

Seats are in decent condition but the driver seat has a split in the backrest on the seam as well as around the hinge and the flip-forward lever. The dashboard is good but the steering wheel needs redoing due to sun damage. The headliner around the targa hoop has sagged and the sun visors are baggy.

Carpets are good. Electrics are working however the passenger window doesn't work from the driver door switch (but does work on passenger door switch). Radio is not period but works as it should, although the speaker mounting in the doors is not flush.

Car starts and and idles very well. The engine bay is in good, honest condition but could do with some cleaning up. There is a slight oil leak as evidenced by some wetness on the bottom of the engine and a very small drop on the garage floor. The exhaust system is standard and not leaking.

The car drives well; clutch action is good and it pulls off smoothly. Suspension doesn't have any thumps and rattles and the brakes are good.

The right headlight has a chip and the rear taillights have a small crack around the securing screws. Wheels are in good condition but one centre cap is missing. Tyres are from 2016.

Regular services as seen in books, the last done in 2017 (8 000km ago).

Papers are in order and status reflects 'Used/gebruik'.
